Dr. Wu is the principal founder of K Systems Corporation, and currently leads a group of scientists and engineers working on several research activities: (1) development of high energy density capacitors for high temperature and high voltage applications; (2) ion beam and DC Pulse Sputtering processing of diamond-like carbon and ceramic nitride thin films; (3) microwave low pressure chemical vapor deposition of polycrystalline diamond film.

Dr. Wu has more than 30 years experience in the design, development and construction of large area ion beam and microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition systems to deposit diamond-like and diamond thin films for electrical, mechanical, optical and tribological applications. Dr. Wu has published more than 100 papers in Scientific Journals and books, and gave more than 100 papers, both invited and contributed, in International Conferences and holds three US Patents in diamond-like carbon thin film deposition and capacitor applications, and currently one Patent is Pending. Dr. Wu received numerous research awards including Excellent Basic Research from Air Force Office of Scientific Research (1990-1998), and a NASA Award (1998) for developing solid lubricants used in space applications.
